One of our training hikes was to go up to Flagstaff and hike Humphrey's Peak, which is the tallest peak here in Arizona. The weather was wonderful, such a break from the hot temperatures in the valley. We were worried it might be closed because there had been some fires near that area, but everything was good for us. We got up there late Friday night (around midnight). We decided to get some dinner on our way out of town at Aribia's and use a gift card we have had since Evalyn was born. It was so nice to have a mini get away. We got to the trail head parking lot around midnight. We set up our tent and slept until about 6 and got up to start the hike. It was a challenging hike, but I was so grateful that someone had told us there are 4 false summits. Because of that information we kept pushing through when it looks like you are almost done (FOUR TIMES) :) There was a bit of snow on the top even. It is wonderful to enough God's beautiful creations while chatting with my hubby. So grateful we were able to do this as one of our training hikes.
