Heritage Weekend

 We love the traditional of Heritage Weekend! It is so special that all the Earl cousins live close and we are able to do this each year!

This year the Mom's had the boys. We talked about preparing for a mission. We started by having all the boys receive a mission call and a companion. We took a picture of them with their companion pointing on the map to where they would be serving.  (find these pictures)

We had them watch a tour of the MTC- Provo. They got to try lots of different foods from different countries. They learned how to tie a tie, iron a shirt, and sew on a button. We talked about family members were were great missionaries. We had videos of Dad's (and a couple that were there with us) share experiences from their missions. We also related how they can prepare now by putting on the armor of God and how by putting on that armor they can be like the army of Helaman. They each got a "future missionary" tag and a cool picture of a missionary looking into the mirror with is armor on. I think it was a really great weekend that helped all of us see how important the work of the Lord is.

 The Dad's were with the girls camping this year. They heard stories from Grandpa about our ancestors. They made a video about loving someone with understanding...or loving with compassion. When we love with compassion we love as the Savior would.

They also worked on a family puzzle to see how important temple work is and how it ties families together.

 The Dad's always have the kiddos make their camping pillow cases. :)

It is a wonderful packed weekend!
